easysnowdata.boundaries.admin.admin#

easysnowdata.boundaries.admin.admin(aoi: Any = None, *, country: str | list[str] | None = None, level: int = 1, name: str | list[str] | None = None, simplified: bool = False, source: str | None = None, **kwargs: Any) → GeoDataFrame[source]#

Administrative units at level (0-5) from geoBoundaries.

Parameters:
  • aoi – Any form easysnowdata.aoi.parse_aoi() accepts. Without country the countries it touches are read.

  • country – ISO3 code(s): "NOR" or ["NOR", "SWE"].

  • level – 0 (country) to 5; how deep a country goes varies (Norway stops at 2).

  • name – Keep only these units by name.

  • simplified – Read geoBoundaries’ simplified geometries (a fraction of the size).

  • source – Only "geoboundaries" today.

  • **kwargs – Passed to geopandas.read_file.

Returns:

geopandas.GeoDataFrame – name, iso3, admin_level, then shapeName, shapeISO, shapeID, shapeGroup, shapeType and the record’s boundaryLicense and boundarySource.
