Virtualization readiness#
Whether NASA publishes a DMR++ sidecar for each NetCDF/HDF product. With one, earthaccess.virtualize() reads a sidecar; without one it scans every granule’s metadata, which is why the loaders cache their references. A sidecar appearing opens an issue (§4.9).

Upstream watch#
A second weekly job reads WATCHLIST.toml — CMR collections, STAC collections, Earth Engine assets, static files, station counts, PyPI releases, and a dozen provider changelogs — diffs each against the snapshot in data_status/watch/, and opens one digest issue labelled upstream-watch with a section per category. If nothing changed, no issue is opened.
